Mechanics:
1) All contributors within the month of contest is automatically qualified.
2) Winners shall be identified as the post which gets the most number of comments with the symbol “#vote“. The comment could be about anything. The “#vote” symbol means the commenter is giving the jumpshot post 1 vote credit.
3) The most number of votes within the contest period wins. Vote credits for jumpshots are only valid within the contest period.
4) The contest period is started as a post every 1st day of the month. Only the previous month’s jumpshots are valid for voting from the 1st day of the current month upto the third Sunday. Announcement of the winning monthly jumpshot shall be on the 4th Sunday as an update on the contest post.
This is done to give equal chance for the newer/newest post to also be considered.
Example: There will be a contest post summary on September 1. Here, August jumpshots are announced and open for voting only from September 1 to 3rd Sunday of September. Announcement of winning August Jumpshot shall be announced on the 4th Sunday of September as an update in the September 1 post.

I THINK AND I SUGGEST THAT DETERMINING THE WINNER OF THE MONTH SHOULD NOT BE DONE BY VOTING BY AUDIENCE VOTER. THIS IS NOT EQUAL TO ALL, AS VOTING CAN BE DONE EASILY AND MORE “PALA” OF COURSE WIN! AM i RIGHT. WE SHOULD HAVE SOME GROUP OF QUALIFIED PEOPLE OR MEMBERS WHO WOULD BE STAND AS JUDGES OR YOU THINK OF SOMETHING ELSE HOW TO DO IT! OTHERWISE, I CAN ALWAYS JOINED AND MAKE A HUNDREDS VOTE FOR MY JUMPSHOTS! WHICH IS NOT FAIR TO ALL. WELL, I STILL PRESSUMED THAT ALL ARE HONEST VOTERS BUT I STILL WILL GO FOR THE JUDGES.

Thank you for the suggestion and concern. I have considered the scenario you visualized beforehand and decided to pursue this system from the start.
Yes, it is a popularity comment contest (based on the mechanics). I intend the contest to be light and fun instead of the more serious type of judging which might require ‘qualified judges’ like professional photographers; aside from the fact that I am not able to maintain such atmosphere. [But perhaps this might be the case for the "Jumpshot of the Year" come JumpSHotsPH.com's anniversary.

However, to avoid the same-person-voting-again-and-again (duplicates), I check the IP addresses of the voters. Indeed, the July Jumpshot comments had some duplicate entries based on IP addresses, however it did not affect the results/standings of the July winners. What I will do next month is, I will publish the number of votes based on the unique IP addresses instead.

Hello, thanks for the reply. I full understand your explanation and I think, I will go and abide by your rules and you are right, this is made to be light and I think for fun. Nothing to be so serious. Okay, there’s no more to lose naman if we are to improve as we go on. I am a picture addict, I can shoot good picture but I do not do it always, only for my children, but I appreciate good pics, in fact, I have collection of best shot photo, including strange one. I might join your contest one time. More power.
